a community of people
i care about very much
they're very strange
some of them are
entirely on fire or
kicking and screaming or
lewd over there
quietly figuring things out
helping each other or
helping themselves but
everyone is trying
some of them
we don't speak
some miss me
watch over me
visit with me
wear me out
argue with me
hold me down
lift me up
i suppose in these ways
it's just family
this is my mech,
it's not one i pilot
it's just one i inhabit

@shoutcacophony @amphetamine And also, like, extremely of its time and place. The meme references don't come off as stilted or hokey, but almost as… hmmm… way markers? Or… map symbols? That say, "I'm from this little corner of the fediverse. This is how we talk here." Or… IDK if that makes sense.
